About Us
A voyage to Svalbard with its rugged, raw beauty, wildlife, and endless Arctic landscapes, was a turning point for me. That immersive journey changed the way I saw travel and deepened my love of expedition and small ship cruising. The list of "firsts" was mind blowing: blue and minke whales, polar bears, walruses, polar plunge, the polar icefield and nordic culture. It was truly life changing.
I founded Salty Soul Voyages to share that wonder with others, helping travelers embrace remote destinations without the overwhelm of planning. My goal is to craft unique cruise vacations that balance adventure with comfort, so you can feel inspired, pampered, and free to cherish every extraordinary moment.
Why I Created Salty Soul Voyages
My love affair with water and wild places started when I was young. I loved both snow and water skiing which allowed me to explore the lakes and mountains of Utah. With adventure as a compass, summers in college were spent guiding rafts down the Colorado River, and winters teaching skiing at Sundance. Being outdoors was my happy place.
In 2002, my family and I discovered cruising, and were instantly hooked. The sea became both playground and classroom as we explored and learned more about marine life, history, and unique geography ships can sail to. With my husband Jeff, and frequently our 5 children, we've been on 35+ cruises over the years.
The ocean keeps calling and I still have to go. In 2000 I took up scuba diving and in 2003, became a scuba divemaster. Now with over 450 dives, my daughter Summer and I continue to dive the world. My favorite way to dive is by liveaboard to get away from crowds and see unique dive sites. We'll always continue to explore the oceans and share aqua experiences with family and friends.

Meet Janet
Time seems to stand still, both above and below the water. Swimming with sea lions, snorkeling with tropical fish, and exploring volcanic islands felt like stepping into another world.
Galapagos
This journey changed the way we cruise. Never before had I experienced so many “firsts,” from spotting a blue whale to entering the polar ice field to getting buzzed by arctic terns.

Our very first cruise, and how much did we love it? Let’s just say we ended up living here! From glaciers to wildlife, every day felt like a front-row seat to nature’s grandeur.
